In the typical workday i work directly with 3 different people the nurse, the doctor, and the patient. When the patient comes in we help them, and once we help them we have also helped their family and everyone who knows them. When I work with the doctor I usually follow him and visit with patients. we go into the room, and we go through the list of background questions to figure out why that patient is in the emergency room. Being able to work with and experiencing what a doctor actually does and goes through is a wonderful thing. It shows and proves that hard work really does pay off, just from these doctors and nurses putting serious hours into to education they have changed so many peoples lives. I think the people who i do not directly deal with are the people who put the paper work together. These people are affected by us because when we see the patient we need to write down everything we do, and from that they record it and figure out how much the patient needs to be billed or how much their insurance needs to b billed. At my site they use peer critic which we do at school. If I was in charge I would have the board of all the patients be available on the cell phone including their chart. i would also have a bar code on he charts so you can scan the charts and the dictations will automatically print out. i think from these two changes the hospital would be even more efficient. This is a picture of the trauma room where patients who are severely hurt or sick come in here and everyone works on them at once, such as radiology, blood work, etc.
