At the end of my day I thought to myself what motivates people to come and work here everyday. I thought that they come here because they love the feeling of being able to help someone everyday. This is always my answer for everything, but this answer is the truth. The nurses and doctors come to work with smiles on their faces because they love the feeling of being able to help others everyday. They sometimes have patients that do not want to cooperate and they start to cause headaches but the nurses and the doctors keep the thought that these people are sick and came here for help, and that's what they are suppose to do. A question my internship has made me want to ask the world is Why would you hurt yourself? I want to ask this question because from being here I have seen alcoholics, drug users, people who want to take their own life, and over weight people. From seeing these people it just makes me think why would people use drugs, alcohol, and just eat. From being here the main problem is weight. Most of the people who come in are fat, which causes them to be sick. What I want the world to really know is don't hurt your self, because you are just conflicting pain upon yourself. So if you need to stop using drugs and alcohol I would stop, even if you just have a smoke and drink here and there you are still hurting your body. If you eat to much stop because in the long run you are going to be affected tremendously, I have seen people with bad legs and hips just from being fat, to a man dieing from having diabetes. Drugs and Alcohol and Obesity are serious things that can be avoided. I really want to learn about what type of education you need to become a maternity doctor. Today I saw a new born baby, and I thought it was the cutest thing on earth, it made me want to become a doctor who like delivers babies, and cares for them.
